Field Plan

 

First Day (21st): low tide- 09:50

07:30~08:00: Departure at the front of two hotels (07:50), one place near hotel (08:00) and convention hall (07:30)

09:20~12:00: On-board observation of wide/very thick muddy intertidal flat, a small vessel will be provided by Shian County

13:00~16:00: To visit open-coast sandy tidal flat and dune - Observation and discussion on formation and evolution of archipelago tidal flat

18:00~     : Dinner and Stay in Younggwang County

Second Day (22nd): low tide- 12:11

08:00        : Departure at the front of hotel

09:30~12:30: To visit open-embayed tidal flat - Observation and discussion on seasonal change of sedimentary facies, formation and evolution of

embayed tidal flat (outer and middle parts)

14:00~17:00: To visit open-coast sandy tidal flat, dune and chenier- Observation and discussion on geomorphologic change of sand flat, formation

and evolution associated with sea-level change, vertical aggradation and filling of fine-grained sediment behind paleo-archipelago setting

18:00~    : Dinner and Stay in Buan County (Buan Eup)

Third Day (23th): low tide- 13:08

09:30~15:30: To visit coastal outcrops of Cretaceous Kyokpo Basin – Observation and discussion on basin evolution and slope and various mass flows, lobe formation on the lacustrine slope, peperite

15:30     : Departure from Kyokpo Basin (Kyokpo port)

19:00~    : Dinner and Stay in Gangwha County (near Choji Bridge)

Fourth Day (24th): low tide- 03:42, 16:18

08:00        : Departure at the front of hotel

09:30~11:30: To visit Yeochari tidal flat, Gangwha Island (county) (long-distance observation from a hill)- Observation and discussion on estuarine

archipelago tidal flat, seasonal change of sedimentary facies, formation and evolution, offshore tide-dominated deltaic subtidal flat.

11:30~13:00 : Farewell lunch in Gangwha Island

13:00      : Departure from Gangwha Island

15:00      : Arrive at the Inchon Airport

            -If someone request early arrival, we can arrange one car for early departure in this morning. Please let me know!!

*Personal Preparation of field-trip participants

-shoes suitable for walking on rocky bottom

-rain/wind coat and umbrella

-You don’t need to prepare rubber shoes and towels (leaders will prepare rubber shoes for intertidal flat and towels: all participants inform your foot size in cm to secretary before leaving (Jung Gwan Kim, senlabkim@naver.com) or one of leaders (Seung Soo Chun, sandchun@naver.com )

*All participants will move using bus.

-Take all baggage in the every morning at the departure time
